iTero Scanner Fairfax

iTero Scanner

The iTero scanner

Digitally captures the structure of the teeth and gums using the latest optical technology. The scanner is a compact, hand-held wand and eliminates the need for traditional impressions in most cases.

LUM Camera

A high-tech camera that discovers teeth cracks that are invisible to the eye.

The LUM’s specialized LED technology applies a high-intensity light source to the tooth with unique positioning so that the light is traveling perpendicular to the plane of the tooth. In a tooth, without impurities, the light will travel uninterrupted from the buccal surface to the lingual, which can be observed on the occlusal table of the tooth by its uniform illumination. When a tooth has impurities such as fractures or leaking amalgam, the light is dispersed showing up clearly in near X-ray like images.

Anxiolysis

Anxiolysis

Anxiolysis is a form of oral sedation using a light sedative, such as valium. It is not as strong as oral conscious sedation, so it is recommended for those with mild to moderate anxiety. You will remain conscious for the procedure, but any tension and anxiety will fade away. You will be able to talk and breathe on your own during the procedure as well. What can be a nerve-racking experience for some is morphed into a relaxing experience. After the procedure you will even be able to drive yourself home since anxiolysis uses a light sedative. If you have been fretting having dental work done, call us to learn about our anxiety free options for dentistry.

Laughing Gas

Laughing Gas is the most commonly used form of sedation in dentistry. It is administered by having the patient inhale the gas, which is carefully monitored by your doctor. You will fall into a euphoric state and feel completely relaxed. All feelings of fear and anxiety fade away, leaving you to sit back peacefully while your dental procedure is performed. In most cases all dental work can be completed in one visit while you are sedated.
Laughing Gas sedation is very safe and effective. Once the procedure is over the Laughing Gas will wear off fairly quickly, and you will probably be able to drive yourself home and return to your daily activities. You will need to have a preliminary visit with your dentist to make sure that you are an eligible candidate for Laughing Gas sedation. If you have been worried about your next dental visit its time to stop! Ask us about sedation dentistry and schedule your appointment today.

I-CAT Cone Beam 3-D Dental

I-CAT

I-CAT Cone Beam 3-D Dental Imaging System

The current emerging standard of care in dentistry and dental implantology is the use of three dimensional x-ray studies. The 3-D images allow the doctor to collect the needed and highly valuable diagnostic information so they can best plan and deliver dental and surgical care. i-CAT Cone Beam 3D Imaging provides three-dimensional imaging to the dental community, right in the practice office.
The system offers active sagittal, coronal, and axial viewing and manipulation. It enhances diagnosis and treatment planning by providing more accurate imaging. Using the 3-D mapping tool, dental professionals can easily format and select desired slices for immediate viewing. Cone Beam imaging delivers quicker and easier image acquisition a typical scan takes only 20 seconds. The patient benefits from less radiation as well as the comfortable, open environment. Aside from the physical comfort of this system, the doctor can share a visual diagnosis with patients, making them more comfortable with their treatment plan and actively participate in their care. The speed of the scan and the immediate results allows the doctor and patient to better communicate the aspects of a case.

CEREC

We are proud to be a recognized provider of the CEREC Cad Cam technology to our Fairfax patients. The CEREC Cad Cam system keeps us in the forefront of current dental technology. We can produce a dazzling all-porcelain crown, veneer, inlay, or onlay in less than 2 hours in our Fairfax office. Scanning your prepared tooth with the AC BlueCam produces an image that is more accurate than taking an impression with that old goopy stuff and it takes only seconds. Within minutes we can design and mill a custom restoration.
CEREC is an advanced dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth. CEREC can create full crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers. The CEREC machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes. CEREC restorations are made of compressed porcelain. The most beneficial feature of receiving a CEREC restoration is that it is accomplished in one visit. In addition to the benefit of a one visit restoration, there is no uncomfortable impression material to bite on or temporary to wear. This technology is only used by a small percentage of dentist in the nation but it is catching on fast. We already have 4 years of experience and amazing results with the CEREC system. Imagine, breaking a tooth, walking into our office and in less than 2 hours walking out with a new permanent crown. What’s even better, there is no ugly metal line at the gumline and you didn’t need to wait 3 weeks with a temporary crown. This technology ranks with dental implants as one of the two most important advances in dentistry in the past 25 years.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral Camera

The intraoral camera is an amazing diagnostic tool for viewing different angles in the mouth that we would not have been able to just a few years ago. The camera gives us the ability to view the entire mouth on a monitor so that we can get a closer look at any potential issues or problems that may arise. In addition, the patient will have the ability to see for themselves first hand the same images we are seeing. These digital images are also excellent for gaining procedure acceptance from insurance companies.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer screenings are a very important part of the dental visit for the patient. With the advances in modern technology, we are now able to pinpoint the start of a potential problem much earlier in its evolution. The ability to do so is extremely important in being able to treat any issues prior to them becoming a major irreversible problem. At Breeze Dental, we use the VELscope® Vx to accurately screen and diagnose oral cancer.
The VELscope® Vx uses a special light to detect oral cancer and other oral health diseases that would otherwise go unnoticed. Certain lifestyle choices can have a great impact on the health of tissues and your overall health in the mouth. If you are a smoker or heavy drinker, make sure to get regular screenings when you visit the dentist.
